What is Friendship! Effort! Victory!? – It’s a podcast about the manga and inner workings of Weekly Shonen Jump, with an eye towards accessibility and soothing camp tones.

What is this episode about? – It’s about Akira Toriyama’s Sand Land, a 14 chapter-long series that ran in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2000. It tells a tale of a post-apocalyptic land, where a greedy king holds a monopoly on the remaining water left in the kingdom, and joins the Sheriff Rao as he searches for a new source of water, along with the prince of demons, Beelzebub, and the diminutive elderly demon known only as Thief. Along the way they face bandits, monsters and the king’s army. Will they prevail? Or will something else happen, I guess?

Where are the show notes? – Oh these little ol’ things? Just down here, sweety-pie.
